Application of gold-containing ore gravity separation
In gold concentrators, gravity separation is mainly used to extract gold from Separate coarse-grained and fine-grained single gold, gold-containing sulfides, tellurides and "coated gold" that cannot be fully recovered by other methods from the ore. In addition to the size of the gold particles, the shape and structure of the gold particles also have an impact on the gravity selection effect. Before flotation and cyanidation, gravity separation can be used to obtain waste tailings with relatively stable gold content and high-grade gold concentrate.

Before leaching or flotation, gold particles can only be selected by gravity selection. In production, jig, shaker and other gravity selection equipment can be used for selection (+gold should be selected before leaching). For example, a company in South Africa installed a shaking table in the first grinding circuit to recover coarse gold. Others pass the jig concentrate through an automatic gold pan to select gold. The jigs, shakers and belt-covered chutes used before flotation in my country's gold processing plants have all achieved good results.

For the recovery of fine-grained gold, the South African gold concentrator uses an inclined plane elimination plate, and also uses a mercury chute or a spreading chute. In modern large-scale processing plants, it is not appropriate to use equipment with small processing capacity, high labor intensity and low efficiency.
